UTCT Short Course Bundle (16, 23 and 35km)
226ers Edition | Built for about 50g of carbs per hour on the trail
Running the Kickstarter, Explorer or Table Mountain course? Climbs, descents and hours on your feet add up. This bundle keeps your energy steady without weighing down your pack.
The gels give you 198g of carbohydrate, about 50g an hour for up to 4 hours. The bars add solid food and salt on top. Running the 16km? You may only need half. Use the rest in training.
What's inside
- 4 x 226ers Isotonic Gels: 22g of carbs per gel, easy to take on the move
- 2 x 226ers High Fructose Gels: 55g of carbs and 250mg of sodium per gel
- 2 x 226ers Race Day Bar Salty Trail: 120mg of sodium, gluten free, contains nuts
- 2 x 226ers Hydra Zero sachets: electrolytes for your flasks or bladder
Suggested race plan
Start fuelling within the first 30 to 45 minutes, then take something about every 30 minutes. Alternate the isotonic gels with half a bar, and save the High Fructose gels for the longest climbs or the final stretch.
Fuel Lab tip
Climbs are a good time to eat, because you're moving slower and breathing more easily than on a fast descent. Practise it on your long trail runs.
